Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Road Tortoise ("the App"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to legally operate any vehicle you log on the App in your jurisdiction. You're solely responsible for compliance with local laws.

Road Tortoise is a sport timing tool, not a license to break the law. You are 100% responsible for how, when, and where you race. Specifically:

• Obey all traffic laws, speed limits, and posted signs at all times.
• Do not race on public roads in a manner that endangers yourself or others.
• Do not operate a phone while driving — set up your run before moving.
• Get permission before racing on private property.
• Runs that exceed posted limits on traffic-marked courses are flagged and hidden.

GPS time trials involve real, physical risk including injury, death, and property damage. By using the App you accept those risks entirely. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Road Tortoise, its operators, and contributors from any liability arising from your use of the App or any course created on it.

You keep ownership of courses, runs, photos, and other content you post. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content within the App and to promote it. Don't upload content you don't have rights to.

Don't: cheat (GPS spoofing, fake runs), harass other users, post illegal/hateful/sexual content, scrape the App, or interfere with its operation. We can suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

Courses are created by users. We don't review them and make no warranty that any course is safe, legal, or open to the public. Use your own judgment before racing one.

You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to USD $50.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
